In May, Asher’s Chocolate Co. attended the Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago, IL and wowed the audience with their delicious chocolate treats. This year’s expo was a sold out show at Chicago’s McCormick Place. The audience consisted of more than 15,000 industry professionals. Most describe this expo as the snack industry’s most successful event.
What a beautiful day it was for the 16th Annual Asher’s Chocolates Fall Fest! The sun was shining and the clouds added to the perfect scenery. Twist, and Mr. Jelly Belly, our friendly mascots, greeted everyone and posed for pictures. As people arrived, Greg Badger treated them to the sounds of an old time calliope. In honor of National Candy Month, we recently sat down with our Souderton Retail Store Manager, Emma Hodgson, to ask her some questions about our retail store and her experience with Asher’s.
Emma first started working at Asher’s, October 31, 1998. While she didn’t dress up for Halloween, she definitely might have had a touch of black nail polish and sparkles in her hair from a party the night before. Emma remembers thinking on her first day “I get to work with candy all day long!” Coming from the insurance industry, it was quite a welcome change. While guests are not allowed on the factory floor, a 100’ viewing corridor offers a birds-eye view of candy moving along the belt and passing through a constant flow of chocolate. One can also come and enjoy a self-guided multi-media tour explaining the process of making our delicious treats.

Several times a year, the Boscov’s stores invite their vendors to come in and present their products with in-store demonstrations, games, giveaways and sales. Asher’s was recently mentioned in the Haverford Patch as the most popular and favorite Easter candy at Manoa Candy & Nuts.
“What’s everyone been picking up at Manoa Candy & Nuts recently? It’s obviously their Easter candy line from Asher’s chocolates, which includes their chocolate bunnies and chocolate Easter eggs.
According to one employee at Manoa Candy, the dark chocolate coconut cream Easter eggs are by far the most popular.”
