31 Years and I’m Still Here!

At Asher’s, we are one big family and we want you to meet the staff! Mary Ellen Ruskowski (AKA Mel) has been working at Asher’s since August 1982, that’s just over 31 years! Mel started at Asher’s when she was 17, as a candy packer. Just a short five years later she was the lead lady in production. When she first started she was very intimidated and had to learn things quickly in order to keep up, and now you can definitely say that 31 years later, Mel knows (almost) all there is to know about Asher’s and chocolate! Sweets & Snacks Expo 2013

In May, Asher’s Chocolate Co. attended the Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago, IL and wowed the audience with their delicious chocolate treats. This year’s expo was a sold out show at Chicago’s McCormick Place. The audience consisted of more than 15,000 industry professionals. Most describe this expo as the snack industry’s most successful event.

Three Cheers for Asher’s 16th Annual Fall Fest

What a beautiful day it was for the 16th Annual Asher’s Chocolates Fall Fest! The sun was shining and the clouds added to the perfect scenery.  Twist, and Mr. Jelly Belly, our friendly mascots, greeted everyone and posed for pictures. As people arrived, Greg Badger treated them to the sounds of an old time calliope. We had Wink and Dandy, the face painting clowns; who made so many kids (and adults) happy with their artwork. Dick Gustafson worked his magic for all the kids and parents with card tricks and more! This month’s featured customer is Whitman Pharmacy located in Buckingham, PA. They have been in business for over 21 years, and have been carrying Asher’s Chocolates for the last ten. They chose Asher’s because we are a local company with a strong reputation for quality. Skip’s Candy Corner: A 3 Generation Operation

This month’s featured customer is Skip’s Candy Corner located in Peddler’s Village, PA. One of Mike Dennis’ accounts, Skip’s has been in business for over 20 years. They started with Asher’s Chocolates when they originally opened and now continue to carry our product at their second location as well. Like Asher’s, Skip’s is a family shop that has grown to now include three generations, 18 employees. They have even established a dedicated “Nut Free” facility.
